The 2013 Eagle Story

As many people are aware, 2013 provided Sweet Arrow Lake County Park with a new pair of Eagles hatched in the Park.
The birds met with some difficulty including the nest falling from the tree and an injured eaglet.  For the full story see http://www.sweetarrowlake.com/Eaglestory.html
Below are some photos I took before and after the hatch.
Bob E.
On May 11th, all was well and a parent looks over the nest.
On May 23rd, 2013, the nest had fallen and the two eaglets were on the ground.  The injured bird is on the right.

There is nothing wrong with the bird's eye.  This is the nictitating membrane.  It is a transparent or translucent third eyelid present in some animals that can be drawn across the eye for protection and to moisten it while maintaining visibility.
